النَّخْف: النَّكاح.

والنَّخَفَةُ: الصوتُ من الْأنف.

ونَخَفت العَنْزُ تَنْخَف نَخْفا، وَهُوَ نَحْو نَفْخ الهِرّة.

وَقيل: هُوَ شَبيه بالعُطَاس.

ونَخْف: اسْم رجل، مُشتق مِنْهُ.

والنَّخَاف: الخُفّ، عَن ابْن الاعرابيّ، وَمِنْه قَول الأعرابيّ: جَاءَنَا فلَان فِي نِخَافين منظَّمين، حَكَاهُ الْهَرَوِيّ فِي الغريبين.

نخَف
نَخَفَت العَنْزُ، كمَنَعَ ونَصَرَ أَهمَلَه الجَوْهَرِيُّ، وَقَالَ ابنُ دُرَيْدٍ: نَفَخَتْ فَهُوَ مقلوبٌ مِنْهُ، قِيلَ: نَحْو نَفْخِ الهِرَّةِ. أَو النَّخْفُ: شَبِيهٌ بالعُطاسِ. أَو هُوَ: صَوْتُ الأَنْفِ إِذا مُخِطَ عَن ابنِ الأعرابيِّ. أَو هُوَ: النَّفَسُ العالي. والنَّخِيفُ، كأَمِيرٍ: مِثْلُ الخَنِينِ من الأنْفِ. وقالَ ابنُ الأعرابيِّ: النِّخافُ ككِتابٍ: الخُفُّ، ج: أَنْخِفَةٌ وَمِنْه قَوْلُ الأعرابيِّ: جاءَ فُلانٌ فِي نخافَيْنِ مُلَكَّمَيْنِ، قَالَ الأزهرِيُّ: أَي فِي خُفَّيْنِ مُرَقَّعَيْنِ. والنَّخْفَةُ بالفَتْحِ: وَهْدَةٌ فِي رَأْسِ الجَبَلِ نَقَلَه الصاغانِيُّ. وَقَالَ ابنُ الأعرابيِّ: أَنْخَفَ الرَّجُلُ: كَثْرَ صَوْتُ نَخِيفِه.
وَمِمَّا يُسْتَدركُ عَلَيْهِ: النَّخْفُ: النِّكاحُ. قالَ ابنُ دُريدٍ: وَقد سَمَّت العَرَبُ نُخْفاً بنَخْفِ الدابَّةِ.
