(نَبَضَ) النُّونُ وَالْبَاءُ وَالضَّادُ أُصَيْلٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى حَرَكَةٍ أَوْ تَحْرِيكٍ. وَنَبَضَ الْعِرْقُ يَنْبِضُ، وَتِلْكَ حَرَكَتُهُ. وَمَا بِهِ حَبَضٌ وَلَا نَبَضٌ. وَأَنْبَضْتُ عَنِ الْقَوْسِ إِنْبَاضًا مِنْ هَذَا. وَنَبَضْتُ أَيْضًا. وَيَقُولُونَ: فُؤَادٌ نَبِضٌ، كَأَنَّهُ مِنْ شَهَامَتِهِ يَنْبِضُ، أَيْ يَتَحَرَّكُ، قَالَ:

وَإِذَا أَطَفْتَ بِهَا أَطَفْتَ بِكَلْكَلٍ ... نَبِضِ الْفَرَائِصِ مُجْفَرِ الْأَضْلَاعِ.
