المكاري المفلس: هو الذي يكاري الدابة ويأخذ الكراء، فإذا جاء أوان السفر ظهر لا دابة له، وقيل: المكاري المفلس، هو الذي يتقبل الكراء ويؤاجر الإبل، وليس له إبل ولا ظهر يحمل عليه، ولا مال يشتري به الدواب.
