امتضغ: علك هو ما يمتضغ من صمغ النبات (فوك، معجم المنصوري).
مضغة: عملية المضغ، لوك (الكالا بالمعنى نفسه: mascada o mascadra) ( البكري 3: 41).

(مَضَغَ) الْمِيمُ وَالضَّادُ وَالْغَيْنُ أَصْلٌ صَحِيحٌ، وَهُوَ الْمَضْغُ لِلطَّعَامِ. وَمَضَغَهُ يَمْضُغُهُ. وَالْمَضَاغُ: الطَّعَامُ يُمْضَغُ. وَالْمُضَاغَةُ: مَا يَبْقَى فِي الْفَمِ مِمَّا يُمْضَغُ. وَالْمَضْغَةُ: قِطْعَةُ لَحْمٍ، لِأَنَّهَا كَالْقِطْعَةِ الَّتِي تُؤْخَذُ فَتُمْضَغُ. وَالْمَاضِغَانِ: [مَا] انْضَمَّ مِنَ الشِّدْقَيْنِ.

وَمِمَّا شَذَّ عَنْ هَذِهِ الْمَضَائِغِ: الْعَقَبَاتُ اللَّوَاتِي عَلَى أَطْرَافِ سِيَتَيِ الْقَوْسِ، الْوَاحِدَةغَةٌ.
