(مَشَعَ) الْمِيمُ وَالشِّينُ وَالْعَيْنُ فِيهِ كَلِمَاتٌ عَلَى غَيْرِ قِيَاسٍ. يَقُولُونَ الْمَشْعُ: ضَرْبٌ مِنَ الْأَكْلِ، كَأَكْلِكَ الْقِثَّاءَ إِذَا مَضَغْتَهَا. وَيَقُولُونَ التَّمَشُّعُ: الِاسْتِنْجَاءُ. وَذَكَرُوا حَدِيثًا: " «لَا تَمَشَّعْ بِرَوْثٍ وَلَا عَظْمٍ» "، أَيْ لَا تَسْتَنْجِ بِهِمَا. وَحُكِيَ عَنِ ابْنِ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ: امْتَشَعَ الرَّجُلُ ثَوْبَ صَاحِبِهِ وَاخْتَلَسَهُ. وَذِئْبٌ مَشُوعٌ. وَيَقُولُونَ مَشَعْتُ الْغَنَمَ: حَلَبْتُهَا. وَمَشَعَ: كَسَبَ وَجَمَعَ.
