(مَزَعَ) الْمِيمُ وَالزَّاءُ وَالْعَيْنُ أَصْلٌ صَحِيحٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى قَطْعٍ وَتَقَطُّعٍ. وَالْقِطْعَةُ مِنَ اللَّحْمِ مُزْعَةٌ، وَقَدْ تُكْسَرُ الْمِيمُ. وَالْمُزْعَةُ: الْجُرْعَةُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ مِنَ الْمَاءِ. وَفُلَانٌ يَتَمَزَّعُ مِنَ الْغَيْظِ، أَيْ يَكَادُ يَتَقَطَّعُ. وَمِنْهُ مَزَعَ الظَّبْيُ مَزْعًا: أَسْرَعَ، كَأَنَّهُ يَنْقَدُّ مِنْ شِدَّةِ عَدْوِهِ ; وَقَدْ يُقَالُ لِلْفَرَسِ.
