المؤوَّل: ما ترجح من المشترك بعض وجوهه بغالب الرأي؛ لأنك متى تأملت موضوع اللفظ، وصرفت اللفظ عما يحتمله من الوجوه إلى شيء معين بنوع رأي فقد أولته إليه. قوله: من المشترك قيد اتفاقي وليس بلازم؛ إذ المشكل والخفي إذا علم بالرأي لأنه لو ترجح بالنص كان مفسرًا لا مؤولًا.
