(لَوَقَ) اللَّامُ وَالْوَاوُ وَالْقَافُ كَلِمَةٌ تَدُلُّ عَلَى تَطْيِيبِ شَيْءٍ. يُقَالُ: لَوَّقَ الطَّعَامَ، إِذَا طَيَّبَهُ بِإِدَامِهِ. وَيَقُواللُّوَقَةُ: الزُّبْدَةُ، وَيُقَالُ لِلْمَرْأَةِ، إِذَا لَمْ تَحْظَ عِنْدَ زَوْجِهَا: مَا لَاقَتْ، أَيْ كَأَنَّهُ لَمْ يَسْتَطِبْ صُحْبَتَهَا. وَمِنَ الْبَابِ: لَاقَتِ الدَّوَاةُ وَأَلْقُتُهَا.
