لعق

1 لَعِقَ He licked (S, K, TA) his fingers: (TA:) he ate a thing with his finger [by taking it up therewith]. (Msb.) لَعُوقٌ A linctus.

مِلْعَقَةٌ [A spoon; vulgo مَعْلَقَة;] a well-known instrument. (Msb.)

(لَعِقَ) اللَّامُ وَالْعَيْنُ وَالْقَافُ أَصْلٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى لَسْبِ شَيْءٍ بِإِصْبَعٍ أَوْ غَيْرِهَا. يُقَالُ: لَعِقْتُ الشَّيْءَ أَلْعَقُهُ. وَلَعَقَةُ الدَّمِ: قَوْمٌ تَحَالَفُوا عَلَى حَرْبٍ ثُمَّ نَحَرُوا جَزُورًا فَلَعِقُوا دَمَهَا. وَاللَّعُوقُ: اسْمُ مَا يُلْعَقُ. وَاللُّعْقَةُ: مَا تَأْخُذُهُ الْمِلْعَقَةُ. وَاللَّعْقَةُ الْمَرَّةُ الْوَاحِدَةُ. وَاللَّعْوَقَةُ: سُرْعَةُ الْإِنْسَانِ فِيمَا أَخَذَ فِيهِ مِنْ عَمَلٍ فِي خِفَّةٍ وَنَزَقٍ. وَرَجُلقٌ: خَفِيفٌ، كَأَنَّهُ شُبِّهَ بِلَعْقَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ فِي سُرْعَتِهَا وَخِفَّتِهَا. قَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ: يُقَالُ مَا بِالْأَرْضِ لَعْقَةٌ مِنْ رَبِيعٍ، لَيْسَ إِلَّا [فِي] الرُّطْبِ يَلْعَقُهَا الْمَالُ. قَالَ وَيُقَالُ: لَعِقَ فُلَانٌ إِصْبَعَهُ، إِذَا مَاتَ، وَاللَّعُوقُ: أَقَلُّ الزَّادِ. يُقَالُ: مَا مَعَنَا إِلَّا لَعُوقٌ. وَالْمِلْعَقَةُ: مَا يُلْعَقُ بِهِ. قَالَ الْخَلِيلُ: وَاللُّعَاقُ: مَا بَقِيَ فِي فِيهِ، بَقِيَّةً مِمَّا ابْتَلَعَ.
