كَوْساءُ:
بفتح أوله ثم السكون، وسين مهملة، وألف ممدودة، والكوس: مشي الناقة على ثلاث، والكوس جمع أكوس، وكوساء: موضع في قول أبي ذؤيب الهذلي:
إذا ذكرت قتلى بكوساء أشعلت ... كواهية الأخرات رثّ صنوعها
