كَوْتَم:
بفتح الكاف، وتاء مثناة من فوقها بعد واو ساكنة: بليدة من نواحي جيلان، ينسب إليها هبة الله بن أبي المحاسن بن أبي بكر الجيلاني أبو الحسن أحد الزّهّاد العبّاد المدققين النظر في الورع والاجتهاد، قدم بغداد وله اثنتا عشرة سنة في سنة 511، ومات في جمادى الآخرة سنة 583، روى الحديث وسمعه.
