كعظل: الكَعْظَلة: عدوٌ بطيءٌ؛ عن كراع؛ أَنشد ابن بري:

لا يُدْرك الفَوْت بشَدٍّ كَعْظَلِ،

إِلاَّ بإِجْذامِ النَّجا المُعَجَّلِ

والمعروف عن يعقوب بالطاء المهملة. وكَعْظَل يُكَعْظِل إِذا عدا عدواً

شديداً.
