(كسح) - قال قَتادةُ: في قَولِه تَعالى: {وَلَوْ نَشَاءُ لَمَسَخْنَاهُمْ}
: أي جَعلناهم كُسْحًا؛ أي مُقْعَدِين، إذَا مَشى يَجُرُّ رِجْلَه، كأنّه يَكْسَحُ الأرضَ. وقد كَسِح كَسَحًا فهو أَكْسَحُ.

(كَسَحَ) الْكَافُ وَالسِّينُ وَالْحَاءُ لَهُ مَعْنَيَانِ صَحِيحَانِ: أَحَدُهُمَا تَنْقِيَةُ الشَّيْءِ، وَالْمَعْنَى الْآخَرُ عَيْبٌ فِي الْخِلْقَةِ.

فَالْأَوَّلُ الْكَسْحُ. يُقَالُ: كَسَحْتُ الْبَيْتَ، وَكَسَحَتِ الرِّيحُ الْأَرْضَ: قَشَرَتْ عَنْهَا التُّرَابَ. وَالْكُسَاحَةُ: مَا يُكْسَحُ. وَيُقَالُ: أَغَارُوا عَلَى بَنِي فُلَانٍ فَاكْتَسَحُوهُمْ، أَيْ أَخَذُوا مَالَهُمْ كُلَّهُ.

وَالثَّانِي الْكَسَحُ، وَهُوَ الْعَرَجُ. وَالْأَكْسَحُ: الْأَعْرَجُ. قَالَ الْأَعْشَى:

وَخَذُولِ الرِّجْلِ مِنْ غَيْرِ كَسَحْ وَجَمْعُ الْأَكْسَحِ كُسْحَانٌ. وَفِي الْحَدِيثِ: " «الصَّدَقَةُ مَالُ الْكُسْحَانِ وَالْعُورَانِ» ".
