ك د ح: (الْكَدْحُ) الْعَمَلُ وَالسَّعْيُ وَالْكَدُّ وَالْكَسْبُ.
وَهُوَ الْخَدْشُ أَيْضًا وَبَابُ الْكُلِّ قَطَعَ. وَقَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {إِنَّكَ (كَادِحٌ) إِلَى رَبِّكَ} [الانشقاق: 6] أَيْ سَاعٍ. وَبِوَجْهِهِ (كُدُوحٌ) أَيْ خُدُوشٌ. وَهُوَ (يَكْدَحُ) لِعِيَالِهِ وَ (يَكْتَدِحُ) أَيْ يَكْتَسِبُ لَهُمْ.
