a. [La & Min], Gave by the handful, doled out to.

كحث: الأَزهري عن الليث: كَحَثَ له من المال كَحْثاً: إِذا غَرَفَ له

منه غَرْفةً بيده.

1 كَحَثَ لَهُ مِنَ الَمالِ, aor. ـَ (inf. n. كَحْثٌ and كَحْثَةٌ, TA,) He laded out for him with his hands, (or with his hand, as in some copies of the K, and in the L,) [somewhat] of the property. (L, K.)

: (كَحَثَ) ، أَهمله الجوهَرِيّ، وَقَالَ اللَّيْث: كَحَثَ (لَهُ من المالِ كَمَنَعَ) كَحْثاً، وكَحْثَةً، إِذا (غَرَفَ لَهُ) غَرْفَةً (بِيَدَيْهِ) ، كَذَا فِي التّكملة، وَفِي بعض النُّسخ: بيَدهِ (مِنْهُ) ، وهاكذا فِي اللِّسَان.
