بالتحريك وهو من أصل العنق إلى أسفل الكتفين، وهو يجمع الكاثبة والثّبج والكاهل كل هذا كتد:
وهو جبل بمكة في طرف المغمّس.

(كَتَدٌ)
[هـ] (س) فِي صفَته عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ «جَلِيل المُشاَشَ والكَتَدِ» الكَتَدُ بِفَتْحِ التَّاء وكَسْرها: مُجْتَمَع الكَتِفين، وَهُوَ الكاهِل.
وَمِنْهُ حَدِيثُ حُذَيفة فِي صِفَةِ الدَّجَّالِ «مُشْرِف الكَتَدِ» .
وَمِنْهُ الْحَدِيثُ «كُنَّا يومَ الخَنْدَق نَنْقُل التُّرَابَ عَلَى أَكْتَادِنَا» جَمْعُ الكَتَد.
