(كَبَثَ)الْكَافُ وَالْبَاءُ وَالثَّاءُ كَلِمَةٌ، وَهِيَ الْكَبَاثُ، يُقَالُ: إِنَّهُ حَمْلُ الْأَرَاكِ. وَحَكَوْا عَنِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ: كَبِثَ اللَّحْمُ: تَغَيَّرَ وَأَرْوَحَ. قَالَ:

أَصْبَحَ عَمَّارٌ نَشِيطًا أَبِثَا ... يَأْكُلُ لَحْمًا بَائِتًا قَدْ كَبِثَا.
