ونَهرٌ قِسْطالٌ: إذا كانتْ له قَسْطَلَةٌ وهو حِسُّه إِذا انْثَجَّ من مكانٍ. وجَمَلٌ ذو قَسْطَلَةٍ: أي هَدِير. وقَسَاطِلُ الخيْل: أصواتُها. ويُقال للمَنِيَّةِ والحَرْب والداهِيَةِ: أُمُّ قَسْطلٍ.
