بفتح القاف، وياء ساكنة، وضم الميم، وراء:
هي قلعة في الجبال بين الموصل وخلاط، ينسب إليها جماعة من أعيان الأمراء بالموصل وخلاط وهم أكراد، ويقال لصاحبها أبو الفوارس.
