قنى: اقنى عن= أغنى عن: ناب عن، سد عن، قام مقامه. هذا إذا كان رايت قد أصاب في تصحيح النص في إضافات وتصحيحات. (المقري 1: 174) = ما ورد في طبعة بولاق.
قنية، وقنية: اتخذ دواب الحمل للقنية أي خاصة له لا للبيع ولا للتجارة (ابن العوام 1: 33) وقد ترجمها كليمنت- موليه إلى الفرنسية بما معناه: للنتاج. (انظر ديوان الهذليين ص33).
