(قمل) - في حديث عمر - رضي الله عنه - في صفة النِّساءِ: "مِنهُنَّ غُلٌّ قَمِلٌ"
الأَصلُ فيه: أنّهم كانوا يَغُلُّون الأَسِيرَ بالقِدِّ وعليه الشَّعَر، فيَقْمَلُ على الرَّجُلِ، فلا يَستطيع دَفْعَه عنه بحيلَةٍ.
وقيل: قَمِلٌ، أي قَذِرٌ مِن القَمْلَ.

قُمَّل
من (ق م ل) دويبة من جنس القردان إلا أنها أصغر منها تركب البعير عند الهزال، وشيء يقع في الزرع يأكل السنبلة وهي غضة قبل أن تخرج.

(س) فِي حَدِيثِ عُمَرَ، وصِفة النِساء «مِنهنَّ غُلٌّ قَمِلٌ» أَيْ ذُو قَمْل. كَانُوا يَغُلُّون الأسِيرَ بالقِدِّ وَعَلَيْهِ الشّعَر، فيقْمَل فَلَا يَسْتطيع دَفْعَه عَنْهُ بِحِيلَةٍ.
وَقِيلَ: القَمِلُ: القَذِر، وَهُوَ مِنَ القَمْل أَيْضًا.

(قَمَلَ) الْقَافُ وَالْمِيمُ وَاللَّامُ كَلِمَاتٌ تَدُلُّ عَلَى حَقَارَةٍ وَقَمَاءَةٍ. رَجُلٌ قَمَلِيٌّ، أَيْ حَقِيرٌ، وَالْقُمَّلُ: صِغَارُ الدَّبَا. وَأَقْمَلَ الرِّمْثُ، إِذَا بَدَا وَرَقُهُ صِغَارًا، كَأَنَّ ذَلِكَ شُبِّهَ بِالْقُمَّلِ.
