قعو القَعْوُ: البَكْرَةُ، وقيل: الخَشَبتان عليهما المِحْوَرُ. ورَجُلٌ قَعْوُ الألْيَتَيْنِ: غَليظُهما، وقيل: إذا كانَ أرْسَحَ. وأقْعى فَرَسَه: رَدَّه القَهْقَرى. والأقْعى من الأُنُوف: الذي دَقَّ وطالَ في السَّماء غير أن أوَّلَه أشَدُّ ارْتِفاعاً ثمَّ ما يَليه إلى آخرِهِ. والاسْمُ: القَعَا. والقُعُوُّ والقَعْوُ: سِفَادُ البَعيرِ والظَّلِيمِ.
