a. Swallowed (water).
b. Appeased, quenched ( thirst: water ).
c. Crushed, killed (louse).
d. Struck on the head ( a child ).
e. Hindered, checked the growth of (child).
f. Despised.
g. Remained, kept at home, indoors.
