. القَثَرَةُ، مُحَرَّكةً، أَهْمَلَهُ الجوهَرِيّ. وَقَالَ ابنُ الأَعْرَابِيّ: هُوَ قُمَاشُ البَيْتِ. وتَصْغِيرُهَا قُثَيرَةٌ.
ويُقَال: اقْتَثرَتُ الشَّيْءَ، أَي أَخَذْتُه قُمَاشاً لِبيْتِي. والتَّقَثُّر: التَّرَدُّدُ والجَزَعُ.
