(فَخَلَ) الْفَاءُ وَالْخَاءُ وَاللَّامُ لَيْسَ فِيهِ شَيْءٌ. غَيْرَ أَنَّ ابْنَ دُرَيْدٍ زَعَمَ أَنَّهُ يُقَالُ: تَفَخَّلَ الرَّجُلُ، إِذَا أَظْهَرَ الْوَقَارَ وَالْحِلْمَ. وَتَفَخَّلَ أَيْضًا. إِذَا تَهَيَّأَ وَلَبِسَ أَحْسَنَ ثِيَابِهِ.
