a. The water is in the vessel.
فِي البَيْت

فِيْهِ عَيْبٌ
a. In him (is) a fault.
فِي أَيَّامٍ مَعْدُوْدَةٍ
a. In, during certain numbered days.
قَالَ فِيْهِ كَذَا
a. He said of, about, concerning him thus.

سَوَادٌ فِي حُمْرَةٍ
a. Blackness with redness.
نَزَلْتُ فِي أَبِيْكَ
a. I alighted at the abode of thy father.

أَسْلَفَ فِي كَذَا
a. He paid in advance for, on account of that.

فَرَدُّوا أَيْدِيَهُم فى
أَفْوَاهِهِم
a. And they put their hands to their mouths.

هُوَ فِي أَصْلِ قَوْمِهِ
a. He is amongst the purest in race of his
people.
مَا الدُّنْيَا فِي الآخِرَةِ
a. What is this present life in comparison with that which is to come!
فِيَّ
a. My mouth.

يَا فَىَّ
a. O my wonder!
