(غَوَدَ) الْغَيْنُ وَالْوَاوُ وَالدَّالُ أُصَيْلٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى لِينِ شَيْءٍ وَتَثَنٍّ. فَالْأَغْيَدُ: الْوَسْنَانُ الْمَائِلُ الْعُنُقِ، وَالْجَمْعُ غِيدٌ. وَالْغَيْدَاءُ: الْفَتَاةُ النَّاعِمَةُ، كَأَنَّهَا تَتَثَنَّى. وَالْمَصْدَرُ الْغَيَدُ.
