(غَمَلَ) الْغَيْنُ وَالْمِيمُ وَاللَّامُ أُصَيْلٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى ضِيقٍ فِي الشَّيْءِ وَغُمُوضٍ. يُقَالُ لِمَا ضَاقَ مِنَ الْأَوْدِيَةِ: غُمْلُولٌ. وَاشْتُقَّ مِنْ هَذَا: غَمَلْتُ الْأَدِيمَ، إِذَا غَمَمْتَهُ لِيَتَفَسَّخَ عَنْهُ صُوفُهُ. وَهُوَ غَمِيلٌ. وَيُقَالُ: الْغُمْلُولُ: كُلُّ مَا اجْتَمَعَ مِنْ شَجَرٍ، أَوْ غَمَامٍ، أَوْ ظُلْمَةٍ، حَتَّى تُسَمَّى الزَّاوِيَةُ غُمْلُولًا. وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِالصَّوَابِ.
