(غَرْبَلَ)
(هـ) فِيهِ «أعْلِنُوا النِّكَاحَ واضْرِبوا عَلَيْهِ بالغِرْبَال» أَيْ بالدُّفّ لِأَنَّهُ يُشْبه الغِرْبَال فِي اسْتِدَارَته.
(هـ) وَمِنْهُ الْحَدِيثُ «كَيْفَ بِكُمْ إِذَا كُنْتُمْ فِي زَمَانٍ يُغَرْبَلُ فِيهِ النَّاسُ غَرْبَلَة؟» أَيْ يَذْهَب خِيارُهم ويَبْقَى أرْذَالُهم. والمُغَرْبَل: المُنْتقَى، كَأَنَّهُ نُقِّيَ بالغِرْبَال.
وَمِنْهُ حَدِيثُ مَكْحُولٍ «ثُمَّ أتَيْت الشامَ فغَرْبَلْتُها» أَيْ كشَفْت حَالَ مَن بِهَا وَخَبْرتهم، كَأَنَّهُ جَعلَهَم فِي غِرْبَال ففَرَق بين الجيّد والرّديء. (س) وَفِي حَدِيثِ ابْنِ الزُّبير «أتَيْتُموني فَاتِحِي أفْوَاهِكُم كَأَنَّكُمُ الغِرْبِيل» قِيلَ:
هُوَ العُصْفور.
