عَيَلٌ The propounding of one's narration, and talk, to him who does not desire it and whom it does not concern; (

anomalous pl. of غِيلٌ [signifying “ a thicket,” &c.; so that the meaning is, in it are thickets the lurking-places of lions and of leopards]. (
