بالفتح، وتكرير الراء، وهو نبت طيب الريح، قال بعضهم:
تمتّع من شميم عرار نجد، ... فما بعد العشيّة من عرار
وقولهم: باءت عرار بكحل، وهما بقرتان فتكت إحداهما بالأخرى، وذات عرار: واد بنجد له ذكر في شعرهم، عن نصر.
