عيع: الأَزهري: يقال عَيَّعَ القومُ تَعْييعاً إِذا عَيُوا عن أمرٍ

قَصَدُوه؛ وأَنشد:

حَطَطْتُ على شِقِّ الشِّمالِ وعَيَّعُوا،

حُطُوطَ رَباعٍ مُحْصِفِ الشَّدِّ قارِب

وقال: الحَطّ الاعتمادُ على السَّيْرِ.
