ابن دريد: عَمَطَ فلان عرض فلان: إذا عابه.
قال: وقد قالوا: عَمِطَ نعمة الله مثل غمصها وغَمِطَها - بالعين والغين - وليس بثبت.
واعْتَمَطَ فلان عرض فلان واعْتَبَطَه: إذا وقع فيه وثلبه وقصبه بما ليس فيه.
