عَلَى — عَلَى
a. On, upon; above, over.
b. Against.
c. According to.
d. For, on account of; about; on condition of.
e. Towards.
f. Near, around.
g. To; by.
h. In, at, during.
i. Notwithstanding.

عَلَى البَاب
a. On, upon the door.
عَلَيْهِ دَيْن
a. There is upon him a debt: he owes a debt.

عَلَيْهِ السَّلام
a. السَّلَام عَلَيْهِ Peace be
upon (with) him.
فَضَّلْنَا بَضًا عَلَى بَعْض
a. We have made some to have superiority over, above others.
خَرَجَ عَلَيْهِ
a. He went out against him.
عَمِلْتُ عَلَى أَمْرِكَ
a. I acted according to your orders.

لَا أَسْأَلُكُم عَلَيْهِ
أَجْرًا
a. I will not ask of you

a. By means of.
