ع ل ف: (الْعَلَفُ) لِلدَّوَابِّ وَالْجَمْعُ (عِلَافٌ) كَجَبَلٍ وَجِبَالٍ. وَ (عَلَفَ) الدَّابَّةَ مِنْ بَابِ ضَرَبَ. وَالْمَوْضِعُ (مِعْلَفٌ) بِالْكَسْرِ. وَ (الْعَلُوفَةُ) بِالْفَتْحِ وَ (الْعَلِيفَةُ) النَّاقَةُ أَوِ الشَّاةُ تَعْلِفُهَا وَلَا تُرْسِلُهَا فَتَرْعَى.
