فِي حَدِيثِ عَلِيٍّ «هَلْ يَنْتظر أهلُ بَضَاضة الشَّباب إِلَّا عَلَزَ القَلَق» العَلَز بِالتَّحْرِيكِ: خِفَّةٌ وهَلَعٌ يُصيب الإنْسان. عَلِزَ بِالْكَسْرِ يَعْلِزُ عَلَزاً. ويُروى بالنُّون، مِنَ الإعْلان: الإظْهار.
