(عَكِشَ) الْعَيْنُ وَالْكَافُ وَالشِّينُ أَصْلٌ صَحِيحٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى مِثْلِ مَا دَلَّ عَلَيْهِ الَّذِي تَقَدَّمَ مِنَ التَّجَمُّعِ. يُقَالُ عَكِشَ شَعْرُهُ إِذَا تَلَبَّدَ. وَشَعْرٌ مُتَعَكِّشٌ وَقَدْ تَعَكَّشَ. قَالَ دُرَيْدٌ:

تَمَنَّيْتَنِي قَيْسَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ سَفَاهَةً ... وَأَنْتَ امْرُؤٌ لَا تَحْتَوِيكَ الْمَقَانِبُ

وَأَنْتَ امْرُؤٌ جَعْدُ الْقَفَا مُتَعَكِّشٌ ... مِنَ الْأَقِطِ الْحَوْلِيِّ شَبْعَانُ كَانِبُ

وَأَنْشَدَ ابْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ:

إِذْ تَسْتَبِيكَ بِفَاحِمٍ مُتَعَكِّشٍ ... فُلَّتْ مَدَارِيهِ أَحَمُّ رَفَالُ

وَقَدْ يُقَالُ ذَلِكَ فِي النَّبَاتِ. يُقَالُ: نَبَاتٌ عَكِشٌ، إِذَا الْتَفَّ. وَقَدْ عَكِشَ عَكَشًا. وَالَّذِي ذُكِرَ فِي الْبَابِ فَهُوَ رَاجِعٌ إِلَى هَذَا كُلِّهِ.

وَفِي كِتَابِ الْخَلِيلِ أَنَّ هَذَا الْبِنَاءَ مُهْمَلٌ. وَقَدْ يَشِذُّ عَنِ الْعَالِمِ الْبَابُ مِنَ الْأَبْوَابِ. وَالْكَلَامُ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ.
