العزيمة: في اللغة عبارة عن الإرادة المؤكدة، قال الله تعالى: {وَلَمْ نَجِدْ لَهُ عَزْمًا} أي لم يكن له قصد مؤكد في الفعل بما أمر به. وفي الشريعة: اسم لما هو أصل المشروعات، غير متعلق بالعوارض.
