[عجرف] جمل فيه تعجرف وعجرفة وعَجْرَفِيَّةٌ، كأن فيه خُرقاً وقِلَّة مبالاةٍ، لسرعته. وفلان يَتَعَجْرَفُ عليَّ، إذا كانَ يركبه بما يكره ولا يهاب شيئاً. والعُجْروفُ: دُوَيْبَّة ويقال: هي النملة الطويلةُ الأرجلِ. وعجارف الدهر وعجاريفه: حوادثه.
