من نواحي مكة، قال جعدة بن عبد الله الخزاعي يوم فتح مكة:
أكعب بن عمرو! دعوة غير باطل ... لحين له يوم الحديد متاح
أتيحت له من أرضه وسمائه ... ليقتله ليلا بغير سلاح
ونحن الأولى سدّت غزال خيولنا، ... ولفتا سددناه وفجّ طلاح
خطرنا وراء المسلمين بجحفل ... ذوي عضد من خيلنا ورماح
