طيخ

1 طَاخَ, aor. ـِ (S, L, K,) inf. n. طَيْخٌ; (L;) as also ↓ تطيّخ; He became charged, reproached, or upbraided, with something bad, evil, abominable, or foul, (S, L, K,) either said or done. (L.) b2: And طاخ, aor. as above, (S, L, K,) and so the inf. n., (L,) He magnified himself, or was proud. (S, L, K.) b3: And He exerted himself, or strove, and persisted, or persevered, in that which was vain. (K.) A2: طَاخَهُ, aor. ـِ (S, L, K,) inf. n. طَيْخٌ; as also طاخهُ, aor. ـُ inf. n. طَوْخٌ; but the former is the more common; (TA in art. طوخ;) and ↓ طيّخهُ; He charged, reproached, or upbraided, him with something bad, evil, abominable, or foul, (S, L, K,) either said or done. (L.) and أَصْحَابَهُ ↓ طيّخ He reviled and harassed his companions. (Aboo-Málik, TA.) b2: And طاخ الأَمْرَ, inf. n. as above, He corrupted, vitiated, or marred, the affair. (ISd, TA.) 2 طَيَّخَ see above, in two places. b2: طيّخ العَذَابُ عَلَيْهِ, (K,) or rather (TA) طيّخهُ العَذَابُ, (Az, TA,) Punishment pressed severely, or persistently, upon him, so that it killed him. (Az, K, TA.) b3: And طيّخهُ السِّمَنُ Fatness filled him with fat and flesh. (Az, K, TA.) 5 تَطَيَّخَ see 1, first sentence.

طِيخٌ a word imitative of the sound of laughing. (Sb, K.) قَالُوا طِيخِ طِيخِ, the word طيخ being in this case indecl., with kesr for its termination, means They uttered a reiterated laughing [like a repeating of طِيخ]. (Lth, K, TA.) A2: Also, and ↓ طَيْخٌ, Ignorance. (TA.) طَيْخَةٌ (L, K) and ↓ طَائِخٌ and ↓ طَيَّاخَةٌ [which last is a doubly intensive epithet] (L) Stupid, in whom is little good: (L, K:) or stupid and dirty: pl. of the first طَيْخَاتٌ: it has no known broken pl. طَيُوخٌ A she-camel that goes to the right and left, and crops the extremities of the trees. (TA.) طَيَّاخَةٌ: see طَيْخَةٌ.
