(طَخَى) الطَّاءُ وَالْخَاءُ وَالْحَرْفُ الْمُعْتَلُّ أَصْلٌ صَحِيحٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى ظُلْمَةٍ وَغِشَاءٍ، مِنْ ذَلِكَ الطَّخْوَةُ وَالطَّخْيَةُ: السَّحَابَةُ الرَّقِيقَةُ. وَالطَّخْيَاءُ: اللَّيْلَةُ الْمُظْلِمَةُ. وَيُقَالُ: ظَلَامٌ طَاخٍ. وَمِنَ الْبَابِ: وَجَدَ عَلَى قَلْبِهِ طَخَاءٌ، وَهُوَ شِبْهُ الْكَرْبِ. وَيُقَالُ: كَلَّمَنِي كَلِمَةً طَخْيَاءَ، أَيْ أَعْجَمِيَّةً.
