طوأ
الطّاءَةُ - مثال الطّاءَةِ - الإبعادُ في المرعى، يقال: فرسٌ بعيدُ الطّاءَةِ، قال: ومنه أُخذَ طَيِّىءٌ - مثال سَيِّد - أبو قبيلةٍ من اليمن؛ وهو طَيِّىءُ بن أُدَدِ بن زيد بن كهلان بن سبأ بن حمير، والنسبةُ إليه طائيٌ على غير قياسٍ؛ وأصله طيئيٌّ مثال طيِّعِي، فقلبوا الياء الأولى ألفاً وحذفوا الثانية.
والطّاءَةُ - أيضاً -: الحَمْأِةُ.
