الضَّيْرُ: المَضَرَّةُ، يقال: ضارّه وضرّه. قال تعالى: لا ضَيْرَ إِنَّا إِلى رَبِّنا مُنْقَلِبُونَ
[الشعراء/ 50] ، وقوله: لا يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئاً [آل عمران/ 120] .

فِي حَدِيثِ الرُّؤْيَا «لَا تُضَارُون فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ» مِنْ ضَارَه يَضِيرُه ضَيْراً: أَيْ ضَرَّهُ، لُغَةً فِيهِ، ويُرْوى بِالتَّشْدِيدِ وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ.
وَمِنْهُ حَدِيثُ عَائِشَةَ «وَقَدْ حاضَت فِي الحجِّ فَقَالَ: لَا يَضِيرُكَ» أَيْ لَا يضُرُّك. وَقَدْ تَكَرَّرَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ.

(ضَيَرَ) الضَّادُ وَالْيَاءُ وَالرَّاءُ كَلِمَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ، وَهُوَ مِنَ الضَّيْرِ وَالْمَضَرَّةِ. وَلَا يَضِيرُنِي كَذَا، أَيْ لَا يَضُرُّنِي. قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: " {وَإِنْ تَصْبِرُوا وَتَتَّقُوا لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا} [آل عمران: 120] ".
