الصنيُ: الثَّمَد من الماء، وجَمْعُه أصْنَاءٌ. وقد صَنَيْتُ الماءَ وصَنَوْته أَصْنِيه وأصْنُوْهُ، واصْطَنَيْتُه. واصْطِنَاءُ الماءِ: احْتِقَانُه.
وصِنْيَانُ النَخْلِ وصِنْوَانٌ.
