(شيص) - في الحديث: "أنه نَهَى عن التَّأْبِير، فتركوه، فصارت النَّخلُ شِيصًا".
الشِّيص: التَّمر الذي لا يَشتَدُّ نَواه. الواحدة: شِيصَةٌ، واسْتَشاصَت النَّخلةُ.
وقيل: الشِّيصُ: أَردأُ البُسْر والتَّمرِ. ويقَال له: الشِّيصاء أيضا
الواحدة: شِيصَاءَة، وشِيسَاء أيضا.
