[شوض] الشوص: الغسل والتنظيف. يقال هو يَشوصُ فاهُ بالسِواكِ. والشَوْصَةُ: ريحٌ تعتقب في الأضلاع. وقال جالينوسُ: هو ورمٌ في حجاب الأضلاع من داخلٍ. قال أبو عمرو: رجل أَشْوَصُ إذا كان يضرب جفن عينيه كثيرا.
