شمج شَمَجُوا من الشَّعِيرِ والأرُز: وهو شِبْهُ قُرَص غِلاَظٍ يُخْبَر.
وما ذُقْتُ عنده شَمَاجاً: أي ما يُؤْكَلُ.
وناقَةٌ شَمَجى: سَرِيْعَة، ويقال: هي تَسِيْرُ الشَّمجى.
وإذا خاطَ الخَيّاطُ خِيَاطَةً مُتَبَاعِدَةً قيل: شَمَجَ ثَوْبَه يَشْمُجُه شَمْجاً، والثوْبُ مَشْمُوْجٌ.
