(شَرَزَ) الشِّينُ وَالرَّاءُ وَالزَّاءُ أَصْلٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى خِلَافِ الْخَيْرِ فِي جَمِيعِ فُرُوعِهِ مِنْ هَلَاكٍ، وَمُنَازَعَةٍ، وَغَيْرِ ذَلِكَ. وَمِنْ ذَلِكَ قَوْلُ الْعَرَبِ لِلْعَدُوِّ: أَشْرَزَهُ اللَّهُ، أَيْ أَهْلَكَهُ. وَرَمَاهُ بِشَرْزَةٍ، أَيْ مَهْلَكَةٍ. وَيُقَالُ: إِنَّ الْمُشَارَزَةَ كَالْمُصَاحَبَةِ وَالْمُنَازَعَةِ. وَالْمُشَارِزُ: الرَّجُلُ السَّيِّئُ الْخُلُقِ، الشَّدِيدُ الْخَلْقِ.

وَمِنَ الْبَابِ: أَشْرَزْتُ [الشَّيْءَ] ، إِذَا قَطَعْتَهُ فَلَمْ تَصِلْهُ.
