الدِّيْنَوَري: أخبرني بعض أعراب عُمان قال: الشَّحْس من شَجَرِ جِبالِنا، وهو مثل العُتَمِ ولكنه أطولَ منه، ولا تُتَّخَذُ منه القِسِيُّ لِصَلابَتِه فإنَّ الحَديدَ يَكِلُّ عنه، ولو صَنِعَتْ منه القِسِيُّ لم تُواتِ النَّزْعَ.
